Who are we?

As a kid, Janet and her siblings would film themselves acting out fairytales. Flash forward, and Janet’s still telling visual stories—give or take her 5-year-old brother in the role of Frog Prince.

Janet founded Bambola Media in April 2019 after a decade working with the world’s top digital, print, and broadcast media companies. She has a Master’s in journalism and hundreds of millions of video views under her belt.

At Bambola Media, storytelling is our jam and we love sharing our passion with clients. Not only will we tell your story with the most compelling visuals and authentic voice, we’ll have some fun too.

What’s a bambola?

A note from Janet

Bambola is the Italian word for ‘doll’ that, just like in English, can mean many things. Doll: A beloved plaything. A term of endearment. A catcall. Bambola. I never liked being catcalled (on the streets of Italy or anywhere), but it did teach me to keep my chin up, keep walking, and keep focused on what mattered to me, instead of getting tripped up by trivial distractions. It was a valuable lesson, so I’m taking back the word.

To me, una bambola represents the endless possibilities of a child’s imagination. It inspires fierce loyalty and provides comfort. Una bambola can be any one of the strong women or allies I am fortunate to have in my circle that supported this company’s foundation. Una bambola refuses to be put in a box. And it’s in this spirit that I envisioned Bambola Media. A production company that tells great stories with woman-powered resourcefulness, passion, and imagination.
